I was a computing professor in Puerto Rico for about eleven years. All my students loved my method due to the fact that I taught them what they really needed from their courses. From all resources I prepared a manual with a summary of all computers courses. This manual includes history of computers, computer's generations, hardware, software, virus, internet, Word, Power Point and Excel. Because in Puerto Rico the dominant language is Spanish, I translated the books to teach my students their lessons in Spanish, and they really loved my manual in Spanish. Some students asked for my manual in English.
I moved from Puerto Rico in December 2014 to take care of my mother and to be near my son that has lived here in Arizona for about nine years. I worked for Universidad Interamericana, Universidad Metropolitana and also for Dewey University in Puerto Rico. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
