Grand Canyon University (BA in Music in Voice)
I graduated from Grand Canyon University with a degree in Vocal Music. However, I started out in music education. Although I love to perform, it is also a passion of mine to inspire a love of music in others. I love being able to pass on my knowledge and skills in music onto others who have an interest in learning how to sing, read music, or learn about the rich history of our music traditions.
I have some experience teaching music theory to high school kids, and teaching private voice lessons to young adults.
While in college, I took private voice lessons, piano classes, three years of music theory classes and a year of music history. I also enjoy continuing to learn about recent music history (such as history of Rock and Roll) on my own.
In addition to my personal education in music, and my passion for passing on my knowledge, I also have an ability to be patient and to help the student learn at their own pace.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I learned early on while taking piano lessons how to read music. During my time in in college taking voice lessons and choir, I had continual practice reading music. Because of this, I find it very easy to teach others how to properly read music.
I received in Bachelor of Arts Degree in Music for voice from Grand Canyon University. During my time there, and while I was in community college, I received private voice instruction. I learned proper technique for both singing and performing, and was given consistent feedback on how to improve. I also took a vocal pedagogy class in which I learned techniques for properly teaching voice lessons.
