My name is Ted. I have 35 years teaching experience teaching instrumental music lessons to students of all ages. I taught 33 years in Allentown, Pa and two years in Arizona as a public school music teacher, and in addition, I was a organist/choir director for a number of years. I majored in clarinet, with a minor in piano. However, I have experience teaching all instruments specializing in woodwinds and piano. I am new here to Arizona, and I am trying to establish myself in the area. I also directed elementary through high school bands as well as jazz band and orchestras throughout the years. My rates are reasonable, and I want to share my love of music with others.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I taught music composition last year at my job at BASIS Scottsdale which was part of the music theory course. I myself wrote a few original music compositions and I have the knowledge and expertise teaching this to a prospective student. I would love to teach composition to this student if given the chance.
I taught flute for a number of years to children and adults of all ages. Plus, I play flute myself for a number of years. After all, I am a woodwind major.
I have 35 years of teaching music education, and I have taught AP Music Theory at BASIS for two years to prepare students for the AP exam at the end of the year. My students passed the test. I would like to be considered for this tutoring position.
I have been teaching saxophone for a number of years. I just picked a new student in Scottsdale, and he is doing very well. I also played saxophone in a big band for six years before moving to Arizona. I am an experienced teacher on this instrument.
I have perfect pitch and I took several aural perception courses in college and taught aural perception here in Arizona for two years. I could help someone with sight singing if the need arises.
I have been teaching instrumental music lessons for a number of years and have experience teaching trombone. One of my former students in Pennsylvania played trombone and went on to be a band director. I was a public school music teacher for over 35 years, and I have a excellent success rate with students.
