About Patricia

Philosophy of Ed:
I believe that the learning process is an experiential adventure, ever expanding and challenging. I, as the educator/guide, always remember that the student is the client in this business. Using positive interaction and involvement we will explore together. By being genuinely interested in the students and by providing support, dignity is preserved for all members of the group within a safe environment. Thus developing life-long learners that are self-motivators, independent thinkers, who feel free to express themselves.
I have global experience in education from Early Childhood to University and degrees in Special Education.

I have most recently spent a year in the general education setting with elementary, 2 years focusing on special education with middle school and elementary. It was necessary for me to develop and implement curricula strategies and be very creative in integrating academic programs where I could utilize the holistic cross discipline approach that I enjoy working with because the success rate is marked. In all classrooms from pre-k through the University it is necessary to use a variety of approaches to accelerate skill sets and develop tools for students to use in an academically deficit situation. I have the background, credentials and expertise to craft a personal learning environment for optimal success. I hold state background clearance with Arizona state certifications in Special Education and General education. Let's chat about your needs.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
