In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I am a public speaker and have taught public speaking at both the high school and college level. As there is a significant difference between wanting to overcome the fear of speaking in public, speaking to small groups, or being on the speaker circuit, my question for you would be, "What do you want to accomplish?" If you are break into the professional speakers' circuit, I'm not your best choice. If you want to be an effective small group, as needed, speaker. I may well be your best choice. My expertise has been in taking students/individuals from no experience to confidence in any situation.
