Hi! My passion is the Spanish language and teaching it to others. I taught high school and college level Spanish courses and have done some tutoring in the past. I feel that I easily relate to students learning the Spanish language, as my native language is English, and I learned Spanish beginning in grade school and throughout college, where Spanish was my major. From conversational Spanish, grammar, culture and other Spanish language needs, I love helping students not only the learn the language, but come to love it and be comfortable using their new found language skills. I welcome the opportunity and privilege to help students of the Spanish language!

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have over 15 years of leadership experience public speaking in a senior level executive role where I was required to present to large groups of people on a weekly basis. My audience included executives (CEO's, SVP's, etc.), as well as employees and students. I have extensive experience in preparing speeches/presentations for public speaking, as well as being an effective public speaker. Additionally, I have taught college courses in person, which provides even more experience in this area.
As an ex high school and college Spanish instructor, I specialize in helping students understand and be more successful in their Spanish coursework and language skills overall. My undergraduate degree is from the University of Arizona, where I majored in Spanish. I also have an MBA from the University of Phoenix with an emphasis in Global Management. Since Spanish is not my native language (I was born and raised in the U.S., so English is my native language), I understand the challenges and how the brain "thinks" in learning Spanish as a "foreign language". This helps me relate easily to students, as they embark on the journey to learn Spanish. The Spanish language is truly a passion of mine. So if you are a student yourself or you are a parent with a student who needs someone to help encourage and facilitate a fun learning process, I would love to help! Whether it's conversational phrases, vocabulary, pronunciation, culture or grammar - I'm here for you!
