My name is David P. I have always loved math. Over the past 12 years I have been fortunate enough to make my living as a math tutor. I not only get to work with math, but help others become better math students. What I enjoy most, is seeing the transformation from a student who "hates math" to a student that is genuinely excited about and eager to learn math. Over the past twelve years, I have not only gained an extensive knowledge in math, but, more importantly, have worked with a wide variety of students of all ages and skill levels. While I take great pride in my knowledge of math and statistics, I feel my most important quality as a tutor is my patience. I have no problem explaining a concept several times in several different ways. I have a degree in math, level II tutor certification from the CRLA and a fingerprint clearance card from the Arizona Department of Public Safety.

David is professional and very patient, especially with me, I'm no math wiz. He showed me a few TI calculator tricks and refreshed me in some basic algebra rules. Overall very helpful and can't wait for the next session.
My son struggles with statistics and David has a low key approach that allows my son to arrive at his answers on his own. David provides the framework and lets his students work through the issues they were finding difficult. I would use David again.
David P. was very patient with me when I asked the same questions again and again. He is caring about his students and he can go the extra mile to help them! I would recommend him to my friends and colleagues.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
David P. passed a background check on 8/2/12. The check was ordered by David through First Advantage. For more information, please review the background check information page.
After sending a message to David, you will be able to order a new background check for $7.99. As part of your tutor selection process, we encourage you to run updated background checks. Please also review the safety tips for hiring tutors.
