Hello, my name is Dr. Kelly, and I am well versed in mathematics, physics, and the medical sciences. I got my undergraduate degrees in physics and economics and my doctor of naturopathic medicine degree from SCNM. I currently teach anatomy and physiology.

I believe that a good tutor gets to know their student and understands what THEIR problems are and attends to them instead of just trying to hammer all the concepts into their head. In my experience, even the most abstract mathematical or scientific concepts can be learned by anyone, you just need to understand what they are doing and why. I think my two main strengths as a tutor are my ability to impart this understanding using visual aids and analogies, and my ability to break down complex problems to simple and easy ones. I am great at organizing problems in a way that makes them become easy, and I can teach you how to do it too. Please contact me if you need help understanding your math or science class!

Calculus,

In my many years studying math, I have found that mathematics is just a foreign language. No wonder so many students feel completely lost - they don't understand the language! Imagine taking a class on a subject you love but in a language you don't speak. Would you do well? Would you have fun? I doubt it! I'll help you understand math, what you're doing and why, what the equations are saying, etc. When students start to understand the language, they sometimes realize they're actually not bad at math. Sometimes.... they even start to enjoy math.
Physics,

Physics

I have been tutoring students in physics for over 15 years. I got my BS in Physics from SUNY Stonybrook, which included time as a TA in the helproom. I was also inducted into the National Physics Honors Society, Sigma Pi Sigma, for my academic performance. I make Physics problems easy to understand and to solve.

I have taught anatomy, neuroanatomy, physiology, pathophysiology, kinesiology, and other related topics to high school students up through medical students. In medical school, I completed a total of 30 credit hours in anatomy. During my final two years, I was an anatomy TA, including one year as lead TA. My expertise is condensing the information and helping my students understand what it all means and why it is important. I have clinical experience so I can share real-life examples. I also teach effective learning skills so hopefully you won't need a tutor for long!

Phenomenal teacher!!!!!

I have learned more about physics with just a few sessions with Kelly than I have in a semester of college physics! He makes really difficult concepts easy to understand-thanks to Kelly, I am actually starting to not only understand physics but may even sign up for the next semester! Great tutor, great educator!!!

Great experience!!

Dr. Kelly was very clear when explaining different topics and he stopped to answer any and all questions that I had. He helped me to understand many concepts and helped accommodate when I said I learn better with pictures. Definitely going to keep meeting with him!

Kelly is awesome!

Kelly was fantastic! I was struggling to pass Anatomy and Physiology 1 before meeting with him and then ended up with a B in the class (after only a few weeks)! Kelly helped me draw out and break down concepts in a way I could understand more easily. Our final was cumulative and I was able to use his strategies to relearn concepts that we didn't even cover together. Anatomy and Physiology is so tough and I HIGHLY recommend using Kelly for this course!

Patient and knowledgeable

Mr. Kelly was kind and patient. He helped me with my Pathophysiology final. There was so much information and he taught me how to chunk it. He also related some of the concepts to real life situations. I made an A on my final!

Great tutor!

I was having difficulties finding a tutor that would help me with parenteral calculations. I felt stuck and out of luck. Until I asked Kelly and he offered to help me. If you need help with nutrition or parenteral calculations I highly recommend scheduling a session with Kelly. He was extremely patient and helpful, I regret not contacting him sooner! Now I feel confident to tackle any PN problems in my medical nutrition therapy course. I will most definitely schedule another lesson with him.

Dr. Kelly is the best!

In just a few lessons he has helped me improve the way I study, and with the content, we covered. As someone who takes a science class that is half biology and half nutrition, he was able to help in both areas and beyond! He was knowledgeable and patient while working through the problems. He made learning fun and his method of teaching is very easy to follow. If you need help, definitely reach out to him! Dr. Kelly was an amazing tutor and his flexible schedule was very helpful.

Knowledgeable and relevant

Kelly helped use examples that appealed to my daughter to make the material more revelant for concepts in AP Physics. Easy to communicate and flexible to set up tutor appointment.
