About Anne

I am a special education/elementary education teacher. I have my master's in special education with an emphasis on reading. I have worked in many different educational settings - public school, private schools and a therapeutic school in Scottsdale, Arizona. I have taken the last six years off from teaching to raise my two wonderful children. I believe in developing an individualized education program for all my students with an emphasis on a multi-sensory approach to teaching. I believe that students should understand what their weaknesses are but be given the tools needed to learn based on their strengths. I love working with kids and teaching. I would love to be given the opportunity to work with you and your child I am a special education/elementary education teacher. I have my master's in special education with an emphasis on reading. Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Elementary (K-6th)

I am a former special education/elementary teacher. I graduated from DePaul University School of Education with my Bachelors in Elementary Education. I loved teaching but felt that I wanted to work with students with special needs. I decided to pursue a Masters degree in Learning Disabilities at the University of Arizona. I have worked in many different settings and with children of varying disabilities. This includes as a second grade teacher. I have also had the opportunities to work with students through middle school with homework or providing assistance to students in the classroom in all subjects.

Special Needs

I am a former special education teacher. I have worked with students of varying levels of disabilities. I believe in educating the student about their disability and their strengths as a student. I feel that advocating for the student is important. No one is a better advocate the student themselves. I use many different techniques to teach and try to make learning fun!

Helped my daughter go from a B in math to an A

My daughter has gained confidence in her math skills with Anne's considerable help. She received an A in math on her report card this quarter. This is the first time she ever received an A in math. Thank you Anne.
