I am trained in the Orton-Gillingham multi-sensory, in-depth phonics method of teaching Reading and Spelling. I have seen great results within a few months with my students, and parents have been pleasantly surprised and relieved! I've had great result with my Math students as well! I taught ASVAB for the U. S. Army for several years and can help you get the score you want if you want to join! I have a Master's Degree in Special Education and I understand the frustrations kids face and I patiently encourage them into developing the confidence and will to succeed!

I love Bonnie's personality and her way with my son. I have seen incredible improvements with his reading. Love her. I'd recommend her to everyone.
Bonnie is very patient & understanding with Kyle and his needs. Understands the background of his history.
Bonnie seemed to connect with the children well and motivate them to put forth a very positive effort (which I know from personal experience is not always easy). I'll be very interested in reviewing the results of the assessments and talking about what their learning program will look like at our second session.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
My son was diagnosed with ADHD in second grade. I went back to school to get a M. Ed. in special education so I could help him. While working on the degree, I always did my papers on some aspect of ADHD any time we had to do research papers. I was able to help my son to be successful. I finished my M. Ed. in 2000 and my son has since finished school and gone to college. I have since tutored many students with ADHD in reading, math, spelling and writing.
I have a Master's degree in Special Education in which the emphasis was on dyslexia and other learning disabilities. In addition, I have had training in the Orton-Gillingham method of reading and spelling instruction which was specifically geared toward teaching individuals with dyslexia. I have tutored children with dyslexia for over 10 years.
I have an M.Ed. in Special Education. My training was in the area of learning disabilities and mild cognitive impairment. I also have had training in the Orton-Gillingham method of reading and spelling instruction which was developed by Samuel Orton specifically for remediation of students with dyslexia. I have tutored children in the elementary grades in reading, writing and math for over 10 years.
I have a Master's Degree in Special Education in which I learned about various methods for teaching reading. In addition, I have had training in the Orton-Gillingham method of phonics and reading instruction for dyslexia. I have been doing private tutoring in this method for over 10 years with amazing results. Many of the clients I obtained were by word-of-mouth. I have had parents weep when they had to discontinue tutoring due to being relocated.
I believe I am qualified to tutor special needs because I have a Master's degree in Special Education (2000). I also have training in the Orto-Gillingham method of reading and spelling for students with dyslexia and other learning disabilities. I have been tutoring students with special needs such as dyslexia, ADHD, Aspergers, dyscalculia, and dysgraphia for twelve years.
