Estrella Mountain Community College (Bioengineering)
I specialize at writing, taking tests, English, and so can you!
My name is Daniel and I was a Sergeant (E-5) (E stands for enlisted) in the US Army for eight years. I was honorably discharged in February, 2016, and I am a non-violent disabled veteran attending college at Estrella Mountain Community College full-time. At present, I have a 3.67 GPA and my goal is to major in Bio-Medical Engineering so that I may help create robotic arms and legs that can feel and be moved just like a real arms or legs.
While I attend college at EMCC, my current goal is to tutor English to any students in need. Be it rowdy teenagers in middle school, young adults in high school, college students that just need a tiny nudge, or even young boys and girls with parents that want their children to have a head-start. My parents taught me how to read, add, subtract, divide, and multiply by the time I was five years old, and I feel that I can do the same for your child. It is my belief that any person can succeed in that which they set out to do, as long as they never learn the words "I can't." I will do my very best to prove my heart-felt belief in the hidden potential intelligence in everyone I tutor!
In the past I was an Honor Guard Trainer in the US Army for one and a half years, which gave me experience in teaching patiently. I learned this patience from the fact that I was at the low rank of Specialist (E-4) while I had to tactfully and respectfully instruct Honor Guard students from the ranks of Private First Class (E-3), Sergeant (E-5), Staff Sergeant (E-6), Command Sergeant Major (E-9), and lastly Second Lieutenant (O-1). Each student I tutor will receive the dignity and respect I would afford that Second Lieutenant.
Additionally, I had two different MOS (military occupational specialty), which was Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear Specialist (74D) and Joint Nodal Network Operator/Maintainer (25N). With the 74D MOS, my duty was Search and Rescue in times of crisis as well as the analysis of air particles for harmful components when necessary. As for my 25N MOS, I was responsible for network administration, setting up phones, internet, and maintaining the equipment.
When I did my placement test for Estrella Mountain Community College, I completely tested out of reading comprehension as well as writing due to my hard work and talent in these subjects. As for ENG 101, at my present college I currently have received an A. I have also taken ENG 102 at a different college and I received an A then as well.
With my tutelage and mentorship, you are sure to succeed! My current schedule is open from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. My weekends are open from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, and are then open again from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM. I can do late night proofreading or an online Skype tutoring session when a person is in dire straits, but Wyzant needs to approve. I will also need an additional $15 per hour for any tutoring after 5:00 PM, as it will be causing me to use my own study and assignment time. I look forward to teaching and learning with you in the future! I specialize at writing, taking tests, English, and so can you!

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
