I have enjoyed teaching mathematics to a wide variety of students over the past 30 years. I began teaching high school mathematics (I have a minor in secondary education). After four years I went on to teach all levels of mathematics through Calculus at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
Over the course of my teaching career I developed a keen interest in and desire to help students suffering from "math anxiety" to succeed and overcome their anxiety. Experiencing much success in this endeavor, I shared my findings and teaching techniques with educators at conferences all over the US, in Canada, Mexico, and the United Kingdom. I also conducted supplemental workshops to work with students in "high risk" math courses. Not having the time or resources to reach all students, I began writing study guides paralleling developmental and regular math courses offered at the University. These study guides are a reflection of how I teach - simple, direct explanations that the student can easily understand.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I taught Algebra 2 for many years, authored a study guide on the subject and also revised a text for McGraw-Hill on the subject.
