About Robert

Bio

I have a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and have worked as a mechanical design engineer for two and a half years, with over three years of manufacturing experience. This line of work constantly uses the foundation of high school math and physics, which I am passionate about teaching. I want students to be motivated by more than just word problems. When students have an understanding of real world applications for physics and math, they are naturally motivated to learn.

Since September of 2016, I have substitute taught in four local high schools. This has been valuable teaching experience in addition to spending five years leading a Bible study of local high school students. I also enjoy learning about other cultures and have spent time with international students in college, welcoming them to the U.S. I hope to help prepare students in high school for not only for successful grades but also for a successful career.

Earning a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering required that I take Calculus I through Differential Equations. In addition, I constantly used Algebra and Calculus in my engineering courses. My work experience also required the use of math. In design and manufacturing, my problem solving abilities were especially challenged since I was not given distinct parameters for each assignment, as in a text book.

Aside from Algebra, Calculus and word problems, Physics was also integrated into most of my engineering classes and work experience. The engineering courses required that I understand the concepts of Physics, in order to apply them to any situation imaginable. My work experience was the same.

Please contact me for tutoring help if you would like to improve your grades and better understand the content in Physics and high school math courses. I would love to help in any way I can and hope to hear from you soon.
