University of Arkansas (Mechanical Engineeri)
I have been tutoring freelance for about two years with High School students in the Little Rock area. I love working with students and watching them grow and learn. My goal is to see your student gain confidence in themselves and their skills with a noticeable increase in grades and understanding. I try to challenge the student to think through the problem so they understand it fully rather than provide them with the answer or only one way to solve it.
I am a mechanical engineer, working on my PhD at UALR. I was a teaching assistant in undergrad and tutored college sophomores in mechanical engineering. I love working with students in small settings and watching their progress. I am willing to work with your schedule, wither it be a one-time session, weekly, or bi-weekly.
I prefer to meet in public places like the library or Starbucks. Though the library is preferable because it is quieter with less distraction. If everyone is comfortable after a few sessions, we could talk about meeting at your house if that is what you would really prefer.
I have tutored Algebra 1, Algebra 2 and Geometry all within the past year, so I have a good understanding of the concepts that many teachers in the area are focusing on. I also have tools that I have learned over the years to help make math seem more logical and easier to grasp.
I have my bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering. I have tutored in material science classes before. I also have a good understanding of Statics and Dynamics.
I look forward to hearing from you and helping you achieve your goals and success! I have been tutoring freelance for about two years with High School students in the Little Rock area. My daughter had her first session with Bailey, and already feels much more hopeful and confident that she can succeed in her geometry class. Bailey was clear and very knowledgeable. I would highly recommend her to anyone struggling in math.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering. I was a teacher's assistant for Introduction to Material Science, which involved tutoring and drill sessions. I currently am working on a PhD in Mechanical and Materials Engineering, focusing on mechanical strength and dynamics.
