Columbia College (theatre)
I can teach theatre! I love to do it, and I am very skilled. I've taught at the elementary level when a teacher was out sick for a few months. I plan on getting my MFA in theatre in the fall, and I love working with all ages. I've most recently been in college, so that is probably my demographic. That or high school. I really like that age because they are able to understand text in more abstract ways. My favorite things to do are write character bios and study text. I have written two screen plays, and performed in two feature length films, information which can be found on imdb.com. I have starred in a commercial, and basically know everything about "how to get in the business" from making a resume to creating a demo reel. I have done on-camera as well as theatre, and love them both equally. I have a background in theatre, and I love to teach it. I have a B.A. From Columbia College Chicago in Theatre. I have experience with Meisner, Shakespeare, Mollier, and Jacobean Theatre. Dialects include contemporary British styles, New York, and Swedish.
I worked with Annoyance Theatre Productions in 2012. I love all aspects of theatre, especially improv. I worked and attended classes at Second City Chicago, and worked with Remmy Bumpo Theatre, as well as the Renegade Theatre and Film Group. If you need a theatre teacher, I'm your person. Shakespeare is my specialty, but if you're interested in finding the love and hate in every scene, as well as the comedy, I am your person. Audition by Micheal Shirtliff is one of my favorite acting books, and I would instruct any student to take that seriously if they want to do theatre.
I'm looking forward to helping any find their acting niche. I can teach theatre! I love to do it, and I am very skilled. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have a theatre degree. I have performed in many plays. I plan to attend graduate school in the fall.
