Hi, parents! I taught in the classroom for 12 years, tutored for 8, and hired and trained tutors at the professional tutoring agency I created. I am certified in elementary education with a Masters’ degree in curriculum and instruction. Two of my specialties are Elementary Reading and Writing and Public Speaking.

I will help your elementary-aged child master basic reading and writing skills. Individual word study, sentence and passage comprehension, and organization are necessary to promote your child's enjoyment of reading and writing as well as create academic success. Retention and confidence improve as we begin with a skill level your child can easily master. Reading lessons include writing components. Students respond to my relaxed, playful, and positive approach.

Because I have been a drama director, coach, and professional actor, I can also teach skills for public presentation. Oral book reports? Speeches? Monologues? Public presentation is important to classroom success as well as in life. Developing presentation skills help your child’s self-confidence and social interaction.

When I am not tutoring with Wyzant, I am a life/health coach. I also volunteer to teach adults to read. I am committed to motivating and empowering all people and all ages to find fulfillment and show their best selves to the world.

Most of our tutoring sessions are 45 minutes to an hour in length but are flexible to the attention span of your child. The schedule can also be flexible to your timing needs as well. You will find after-school or evening times for your school child, and homeschoolers will also find daytime hours that are available to schedule.
