My name is Vijay and I have a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering and a PhD in control systems. I am semi-retired so I tutor students in mathematics and physics. Students preparing for the ACT, SAT and AP courses require skills to pick apart a problem and apply the tools they have learned to arrive at a well reasoned solution. I have tutored college students from various disciplines who need to brush up or bolster their math and physics skills. My approach to tutoring is (1) teaching the underlying principles of the topic at hand (2) developing an approach to clearly understanding the key issues in a problem assignment (3) a step by step approach to a well reasoned solution. I like to make sure the students understand where they have gone wrong. Understanding a mistake is a big step towards not repeating it. I rely on positive encouragement and adding real world examples to make math and science interesting to the student. I like to tutor with the intention of preparing the student to become knowledgeable, confident, and with the right strategies, to do well at school and at standardized tests. Not only did our daughter's math performance AND confidence greatly improve but she also gained some excellent test taking strategies. We highly recommend you contact Mr. Vijay for he is well worth the money!
Dr. Vijay wants to make sure you understand the concepts of what you're learning so you can work through future problems as easily as the problems he helps you with in your session. Great tutor- would definitely work with again.
My son was very comfortable with Dr. Vijay G. almost immediately, and that is very unusual. He was comfortable enough with him to let his guard down to learn and enjoyed the lesson. He felt he was the best tutor he has had. We are so grateful for his help. Thank You.
The best way I can explain having Dr. Vijay as my tutor, is that I wish he was my real professor because if he was I wouldn't need a tutor in the first place! Vijay makes sure you are understanding the concept to the situation or problem and not just relating it all to equations. The price may be a little high but just the help of De-stressing the situation of not understanding what the teacher says in class is worth it. If my grade improves from his help then I will be using him for both physics 1 and 2. I would recommend if you are struggling with physics.
Vijay worked with my high school daughter on math to help raise her ACT score. Not only did her math score go up 4 points, but her attitude and confidence level improved considerably. I've never seen her work so hard at math with such a good attitude. We very much appreciate Vjay's help and highly recommend him as a tutor.
I must admit I was very skeptical and wary about meeting up with a stranger for tutoring, but I am so glad I did. I had fallen behind in my Physics course and had almost given up. We met up and I felt very comfortable. He was very nice and understanding. He made sure I knew the basic concepts and principles and then we went from there. He explained the problems and equations to me in a way that I could understand verbally and also drew diagrams so I could have a mental image of what I was learning. He was very patient and encouraging, spending as much time as necessary on concepts that I couldn't grasp right away. I am very pleased with my tutoring experience with Vijay and highly recommend him to anyone struggling in Physics. I give him a 10!!!
Dr. Gondhalekar makes sure that you understand the theory behind each concept before you start working out problems, and he's available by email so that if I have any additional questions after our session, I can shoot them to him and he'll reply with the worked-out solutions. He certainly knows his material very well. I'd recommend him highly to anyone who needs help with physics.
Vijay is an awesome teacher and tutor who has been very kind and patient in giving me understanding of electrical engineering and physics. He is brilliant in explaining the material and especially fantastic in explaining the material in an easy to understand format. I have worked with a lot of tutors and I can honestly say Vijay is the most impressive tutor/teacher I have ever met. I hope some day to be as proficient with electrical engineering and physics as he is. On a scale to 1 - 10 I give him a 9.5 - 10 easy. I know I can trust him when he's teaching me.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I am certified to tutor for Math and English sections of the ACT and SAT tests. I regularly tutor high school as well as college level students for Algebra I and II as well as calculus and physics.
I have a PhD in control systems engineering which positions me very well in the teaching of math and science subjects. My skills in English both written and spoken have been honed during my 35 years in private industry where I regularly wrote reports, business plans and made presentations.
The material covered in the Praxis tests is well within my grasp when it comes to preparing students to excel in this test.
I have taught pre-algebra leading up to algebra II and than calculus. My students do quite well at their school courses as well as standardized test. Students who are good at straight numbers quite often stumble when it comes to manipulating symbols. It takes a good teacher and practice by the student to become comfortable with symbols.
