I am a recent graduate with a BA in Spanish. I have never been an official tutor before but I have been an Au Pair in Spain where I lived with a family and helped teach the children English. Spending a total of nine months in Spain and being immersed in the language improved my Spanish and helped me to learn some different regional dialects. Helping the children with their English also gave me experience understanding some of the common errors non-English speakers make when they are learning the language. I would like to tutor either of these two subjects.
I would like to tutor because I love feeling like I have made a difference to somebody. I also feel that it's important for students to know that it's okay to ask for help and explanation when trying to learn something new. I want to give students a sense of relief knowing that they are not alone but also to motivate them to push themselves to learn more. Knowing what it is like to learn a foreign language I can relate to them and strive to explain complex concepts to in a way that they can understand.
I have spent three summers in Spain teaching children English.
I recently graduated from the University of Central Arkansas with my Bachelor's in Spanish.
I am available Tuesday-Thursday evenings and Saturday mornings. Please feel free to contact me to schedule lessons! I am a recent graduate with a BA in Spanish. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
