Metropolitan State University of Denver (Spanish and German)
I am excited to meet you and help you realize your goals in learning either Spanish or German! I am an experienced language teacher with a near-native proficiency in both languages. I grew up traveling extensively and living in both Mexico and Germany. My degree is in Modern Languages, a composite study of Spanish and German. I have taught at the college level in Denver and at the high school level for over 15 years.
I know our state and national standards, and more importantly, how to teach effectively toward your specific goals. My students tell me they love my classes because they are engaging and I make learning fun. I just think that learning a foreign language is fun, and I guess my enthusiasm shows through. I will have you speaking, reading and writing without drudgery from the very first class. Whether you are a school-aged student needing help with a class you're taking, or a professional hoping to gain enough knowledge to relocate for your career, I can help you reach your goal in a fun, trusting and relaxed environment.
I am a state certified teacher. Background check on file with the state. I am excited to meet you and help you realize your goals in learning either Spanish or German! I am an experienced language teacher with a near-native proficiency in both

Anamaria is the perfect tutor for my daughter and me. She understands the areas that might be confusing and puts them in very easy-to-understand terms. She is excellent at what she does!
My kids have learned colors, numbers, animals, foods and table settings. My girls are 3 and 6. With that in mind, Anna Maria tries to keep it fun by doing things like tea parties, dress up, story telling. She even taught my girls how to sing Happy Birthday in German for their grandma.
Xavier has been using the words he has been learning in daily conversation. I am amazed at how quickly he is catching on.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
