NAC (BSE- Elementar Education)
College of the Ozarks (Graduate Coursework)
I taught first, second, and third grades at various schools. They included Branson, Harrison, Lead Hill, and Omaha schools. I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education from College of Ozarks, one of the best training colleges for elementary teachers.
I love to teach. Your child becomes my child, when I become their teacher. I feel an ownership in their success. I loved all of my students and especially the ones that needed my extra help. I had many readers that came to me in second and third grade that read on pre-school level. By the end of the school year they were all on grade level or as high as fifth and sixth grade reading level.
Most students that needed extra help, only need to taught with a different approach, Because they learn differently than other children. There is nothing wrong with that. We are all different.
My teaching experience is primarily in first- third grades. I love to read! and this love to read is contagious.
I was the balanced literacy specialist in my former school. Which means that we recognized the importance of all facets of reading, writing, and spelling.
I am a firm believer in the A.R. reading program. When this program is used correctly in the school as an extra reading program, it rewards students with lifetime of reading enjoyment. It takes a lot of prep time to put together a unit of study. I always choose objectives and gather material to achieve those objectives. I am a retired teacher.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have a Arkansas teaching degree for these grade levels.
Having taught in my own classrom for 7 or more years, I have the skills to be certified in k-6, as I taught all subjects.
I am an Arkansas certified teacher in grades k-6.
I taught in the lower elementary classrooms, and teaching and using phonics go hand in hand with teaching reading. Blocks of letters are sounded out to make words, and words to make sentences, and sentences to make stories.
I have an Arkansas teaching license for grades k-6, and I have studied for college classes as well as repeatedly studying "Where There's a Will There's an A". This is a fantastic tape for learning study skills.
Study skills are a variety of tools that a student uses to aid in learning how to study. There are many tools to choose from and all do not work with each student. They include seeing it, speaking it, writing it, and tactile learning are the primary tools used. The more senses used the more likely the learning will be incorporated and remembered.
Each student learns in different ways. I am a visual learner, but many are not.
I feel that I have a good grasp of teaching different ways for a student to study.
