First off, congrats on taking the first step towards improving your grades by looking into getting a tutor! I have always benefited from more one-on-one teaching, as most subjects are better taught as a conversation rather than a lecture. First off, congrats on taking the first step towards improving your grades by looking into getting a tutor! I have always benefited from more one-on-one teaching, as most subjects are better taught as a conversation rather than a lecture. We'll be able to turn your effort into results by taking the material and working it together.

As for me, I am a junior working on my undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering as well as minors in Math and Physics at the University of Arkansas. As a student, I know how it can feel to struggle in a hard math or science class, but I've also learned the value of just getting a little extra help. I have about 5 years of independent tutoring experience, and I have worked with high school and college students in courses like Pre-Calculus, Calculus, Differential Equations, and more. Lately, I have also been helping with engineering courses like Digital Design and Circuits.

I strive to provide a friendly, supportive teaching style that keeps the focus on your learning. My tutoring follows the philosophy of "whatever works", because I've found that the most effective way to help a student figure out a challenging concept is simply to come up with a better way to think about it. Because of this, I focus on finding the method that works best for you and reinforce the material using that method. By approaching a problem with a method that makes sense, you will suddenly start tackling problems that seemed impossible using the method you started with. However, I make it a point to avoid giving you the answer outright. I will provide help every step of the way and point you in the right direction, but in the end, it will be you who comes up with the answer. This ensures that that my lessons will stick afterwards, whether its on a test or in your future career.

In the past, I have predominately worked with high school juniors and seniors as well as college freshmen and sophomores. Because of this (and my own work as a student), I maintain a pretty flexible schedule. If there is just an hour or two once a week where you have a time to work with me, I will do my best to make it happen and pack as much into the time we have as possible. I am also flexible with cancellations or reschedules as necessary, because we all have life happen sometimes. I am available any day of the week, especially on weekends.

As for what I can help you with, my specialties are math and engineering. Math has always been something I've enjoyed. In high school, I took Calculus I and II, and I scored a 36 on the math section of the ACT. During my time at the University of Arkansas, I have taken Calculus III and Differential Equations. As a result, most of my tutoring experience is with math at all levels. Specifically, I have helped with College Algebra, Pre-Calculus, Calculus, Differential Equations, as well as ACT-level math. Tutoring math has helped me learn a lot of it even better then when I took the classes themselves, and I can pass on a few tricks that can make those math tests much more manageable. My engineering experience is more recent; I have taken and helped teach Digital Design and Circuits to other engineering majors. I enjoy making assignments more interesting and engaging for students even when they seem pretty boring, and I approach tutoring these subjects in a way that will help the student learn how to solve the problems in the future rather than just get the answer. Engineering can be a daunting major, but I promise that it is very achievable with the right effort in the right place.

I am excited to meet you, and help you develop the skills you'll need to pass some of the hardest subjects in college. Together, we'll work towards your academic goals. I assure you that the "Aha!!" moment is closer than you think. If you have any questions or would like to begin working with me, don't hesitate to contact me and we will get going!

Great calculus help

He explained things clearly and my daughter feels he really helped her understand how to approach the problems. She just wasn't getting this kind of clarity at school. Highly recommended.
