About Alex

Hello! My name is Alex, and I am a second-year undergraduate student of English at the University of Arkansas. I selected English as my major because all my life I have had a passion for reading, writing, and the English language. After graduation, I hope to go into journalism, editing, or some other field that allows me to write. In high school, I took AP English and Literature classes as well as AP classes in U.S., world, and art history; my interest in history goes hand-in-hand with my passion for English.

Outside of school, I enjoy reading for fun, as well as writing creatively. I tutored fellow students in high school in English, helping them in a variety of subjects. My goal is to to graduate early and help other students with English and History along the way!

I made passing scores on AP English III & IV in high school, as well as on art history and U.S. history exams; I was exempt from comp I & II at the university level, as well as from U.S. history and some humanities classes. I have experience tutoring in a variety of subjects within the field of English: grammar, reading comprehension, creative writing, proofreading/editing, and writing papers (I am familiar with APA, MLA, and Chicago formats). I am also familiar with SAT English prep/essay writing - I scored high enough on my SAT for automatic acceptance into college.

I am available for tutoring on the weekend and weekday evenings. Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions or to schedule an appointment. I look forward to helping you achieve your academic goals!

Approved subjects

If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
