I've been tutoring through UofA (Class+) since the end of my freshmen year. I also worked with Lawson Coaching here in Fayetteville. I specialize in math and chemistry tutoring, but can also help out in chemical engineering classes as well as Spanish classes up through Intermediate II. I've been tutoring through UofA (Class+) since the end of my freshmen year. I also worked with Lawson Coaching here in Fayetteville. I specialize in math and chemistry tutoring, but can also help out in chemical engineering classes as well as Spanish classes up through Intermediate II. Tutoring is one of my favorite things to do, because I believe that learning--regardless of the subject--is one of the greatest things a person can do to advance themselves in any subject area. In addition, learning can (and should) be fun, and nobody should have to hate a subject just because they do not have a good teacher, or just aren't receiving enough one-on-one attention to really digest the material. I have always loved school, and I enjoy sharing that enthusiasm with students and helping them overcome any learning hurdles they may have!

I scored a 34 in Math on my ACT, and a 5 on my AP BC Calculus class in high school. I graduated (May 2017) from UofA with my Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering Summa Cum Laude and am now pursuing my PhD in chemical engineering. I have great proficiency in a multitude of math classes including college algebra, precalculus/trig, all levels of calculus, and differential equations. In addition to mathematics, I enjoy tutoring various levels of chemistry, as well as undergraduate chemical engineering courses including fundamentals, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, heat and mass transfer, and process control and safety.

If you are having problems with either learning material, applying concepts to problems, or just need someone to guide you as you work through the problems on your own, I would love to help! Some of these subjects that include problems can be very tricky, especially when teachers conveniently work the easy problems in class and leave the harder problems for you to work at home--trust me, this frustrates me too. However, I welcome challenging problems, and would love to help out wherever I can. If you need help, please contact me so we can schedule a lesson!

I am a senior in Chemical Engineering pursuing my bachelors degree, and I have maintained a 4.0 throughout the duration of working towards this degree. I enjoy helping other students with problems they may be having with thermodynamics, fundamentals in chemical engineering, reactor design, and computer methods courses using MATLAB. I like to lead students towards the answer by first asking the most basic (but fundamentally important) questions to gauge how well they understand concepts first and how we apply them to problems. I approach tutoring in this subject similar to all other courses I tutor.

Great teaching!

Really great at breaking the basics down for a solid understanding and able to explain things in different ways! Already cleared up a lot of things I’ve been missing.

Encouraged!!

My daughter left her first tutoring session with Karla feeling more confident about Algebra than before. That's been a huge part of her problem so I am very hopeful about the progress that can be made. We will definitely continue to work with Karla!
