In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

I have a minor in communications with an emphasis on public speaking. I have served as the spokesperson for several organizations and know how to write persuasive, or expository speeches, the importance of facts and statistics, as well as the importance of inflection and pauses. I have lectured at the university level, debated on TV, and testified to the state legislature. I am a storyteller and am quite adept at presenting the story, need, facts, and summary as an argument for taking action.
I taught study skills at Learning 2, Inc in Fayetteville, Ar for a year. I taught study skills for the University of Arkansas for one semester to all the women athletes in the Athletic Department. I stress and explain note taking, time management, teach various mnemonic memory strategies, and organization of information for different learning types.
