I have tutored several students in the past who when on to achieve great successes in their comprehension and retention of the Spanish language, and of course higher grades in their elementary college level Spanish courses. In my method, along with Spanish reading, writing, speaking, and understanding, great emphasis is placed on the mastery of the grammatical structures that are so vital for permanent and lasting knowledge of the Spanish language. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
Holding the degree Bachelor of Arts in Spanish, and having been awarded the highly competitive University of Arkansas Honors College Award for Study Abroad, as well as having been named a nationally competitive Benjamin A. Gilman Scholar for study of Spanish language, literature, and culture in Granada, Spain, I have tutored several students in elementary Spanish courses at the college level whose grades in those courses rose significantly.
