I am a graduate student at the University of Arkansas currently pursuing a PhD in physics. From basic math and physical science to advanced calculus and physics, I am more than confident that I have the abilities to help you or your child succeed.

I enjoy helping others learn difficult subjects and take pride in seeing students succeed. I take the time to ensure that students understand the topic by breaking down challenging problems into smaller, more manageable parts. In doing so, I find that students learn to enjoy the subject and establish their own sense of pride for conquering difficult material.u

Algebra is a prerequisite for all higher level mathematics and one of the most important areas of math in general. Throughout my coursework as a physics and math major, I have continuously applied the rules of algebra to solve problems from physics to calculus and beyond.

Physics is my main area of expertise. Years of physics tutoring and teaching physics labs has made me adept at teaching students the intricacies of the subject.

I am proficient at writing computer code in a variety of coding languages. However, MATLAB has become my preferred environment for analyzing experimental data and running computer simulations. My 4 years of experience coding in MATLAB have given me the tools I need to teach students the syntax and have them writing their own scripts in no time!

In addition to my science and math education, I also have a great deal of experience playing and teaching guitar. I work semi-professionally as a performing musician and have studied classical guitar at the collegiate level. Did I mention that I have experience teaching guitar as well?

Feel free to contact me and ask about setting up a tutoring session! The subjects I can teach are not limited to the 5 already listed. I am available to tutor online or in person and ha

Knowledgable and helpful

he was great, really understanding and even took extra time to finish a problem with me! ------------------------------------------

A really good Tutor

Well, I had looked through nearly half a dozen physics tutors, and none were as concise and as engaging as Doug. Instead of lectures, he got started with problems, and when I made a mistake, instead of doing the problem for me, he suggested, and pointed something out, without being judgemental, what I was missing, and helped me understand new material not through lectures, but through application.

Awesome!

Doug did a great job helping my 14 year old high school freshman understand and compete his conseptual physics homework! We are very pleased!

Great teacher

Doug R has tutored my son for almost a year and has tutored my daughter some as well. My children really like the way he teaches. They both have improved their math grades. Doug has been a life safer since all school is now online.
