Hello! I've been private tutoring since I started as a Latin tutor in college. I moved on to live in Japan for seven years, teaching mostly English as a Second Language (ESL) to students of all ages. For my last three years in Japan, I worked in my own school; there, I taught several subjects along with ESL.
Since returning to the U.S., I've been trained and tutoring test prep for ACT/PATH/SAT/PSAT/GED. I've worked with students of all ages, and have seen scores rise dramatically. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
