I tutored and taught various English courses for Trio/Upward Bound Program at ASU-Beebe from 2004-2008. Classes taught include Shakespeare, Reading, Writing, Literature, Grammar, and Creative Writing.
I graduated from University of Arkansas at Little Rock in May 2008 with B.A. in English/Linguistics and Magna Cum Laude honors. I also helped peers with studying while in college and took on a project to tutor as part of one of my independent studies my senior year.
The best way to learn English skills is hands-on. The more you practice, the better you will become. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
