I am a certified Preschool-4th grade teacher. I would love to help your elementary student be successful in Elementary School, have a good foundation for the challenges he/she is facing in Middle School, Junior High and High School. The demands on elementary students continue to increase year after year. It is imperative that students are prepared for these increasing demands. I am available after school and am not opposed to tutoring on the weekends also.

In only a few sessions, I saw improvement in my daughter! She hated to sound out words but is now willing to try. Laura was able to instantly pinpoint her weak areas and began working on them. I am confident that my daughter will excel next school year in all areas!
Mrs. Laura it's a great trade or my son has been improving a lot ever since he's been seeing her.
Laura is an outstanding tutor!! She is reliable, knowledgeable and has a great attitude towards teaching.
My son was struggling in Common Core Math, and lacked confidence in the classroom especially during testing. After only a few lessons with Laura, it has been amazing to see my son get excited about working with her and the self confidence he has gained in his math class.
I would recommend her to anyone!!
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I am a certified P-4 teacher. I previously taught reading booster groups to elementary students that scored below basic in reading. I hold a current teaching license.
Before I became a certified p-4 Teacher, I was a reading aide and conducted booster reading groups for k-3 reading. I performed DIBEL testing on all students that did not test proficient in reading. I also performed progress monitoring on students that needed to monitored for reading proficiency.
I have 2 college degrees. One in Business Management and I also have a Teaching Degree. I have taken many classes and developed methods for taking notes and highlighting important information that would potentially be on a test. I have taught these study techniques to my own children who are straight A students. I also use these study techniques when tutoring students currently. I tutor students in a benchmark academy in an after school program to use these study techniques.
