I have a large range of teaching experience from very young to adult. I enjoy teaching and am considered to have a caring approach and I try to make sure that learning takes place in a relaxed but studious situation.

I am a 2013 graduate from Western Governors University with a degree in Early Childhood Education (Pre-K through 6th) in all general content areas. I completed a Masters degree in English as a Second Language (Pre-K through 12th), in 2015.

I am currently completing a second Masters degree in Learning and Technology.
I am 47 years old and have more than 20 years of teaching experience. My current position is as a virtual ESL teacher. From my in home classroom, I am able to teach English to children in other countries. I have been a successful tutor for over 5 years. My schedule is very flexible.

I am an outstanding English tutor because I have a Masters degree in English as a Second Language. I have taught English as a first and second language for several years. I have 3 different state certifications for teaching elementary school. My concentration is in Elementary education and I have several years of experience teaching Elementary education, content subjects and common core standards.

I Understand systematic synthetic phonics in the teaching of reading, and a range of strategies for developing early literacy and mathematics. I have experience using sequential synthetic phonics.

I use the following method:

Cluster 1: Introduce the vowels and their short sounds. Introduce the consonants and their sounds. Begin blending short vowels with consonants. Begin blending and reading one vowel words and short sentences.
Cluster 2: Introduce the long vowel sounds. Practice blending long vowels with consonants.
Cluster 3: Begin blending and reading two vowel words and Introduce two special rules. Rule #1: The One Vowel Rule Rule #2: The Two Vowel Rule. Introduce the Phonics Charts which include the special sounds that are made when letters “stick” together.

My schedule is very flexible and I look forward to partnering with you. I am excited about the opportunity to help you achieve your educational goals!
