Arkansas Tech University (Mathematics)
Are you struggling in math? Is there a particular subject that you simply can't grasp? You may need an academic coach. My name is Josh. I am a four year graduate of Arkansas Tech University with a Bachelor's in Mathematics. My biggest love of math is teaching students who are struggling in it. I obtained my passion for math from a College Algebra teacher during my first college semester in 2007. I have tutored dozens of students in my college work study program and have been a private tutor since 2013. I specialize in a variety of subjects ranging from simply math (addition, subtraction) all the way to Calculus as well as ACT and SAT prep. My age range includes elementary through, yes, college level.
My mission is to strive to help mentally challenged students succeed with whatever they're struggling with. I'm am proficient in preventing students from being overwhelmed by identifying their struggles/weaknesses and helping them focus on improving them one at a time. My ultimate goal is to help them grasp the concepts of the subject. Like my physics professor said, "if you can't master the concepts and rules, you're not gonna master the subject."
I assign homework after every session and on occasion, throw in a pop quiz and an assessment or two. My hours are flexible (9a.m. to 10p.m. seven days a week). I charge $65/hr for in-person sessions and $40 for online sessions.
Feel free to contact me for more information. I look forward to helping you strive to succeed. Are you struggling in math? Is there a particular subject that you simply can't grasp? In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have taken the Algebra 2 test and am certified to tutor this course.
