About Jordan

Hi, there and welcome to my profile! My name is Jordan N. I am 22 years old and currently enrolled at South Alabama as a mathematics and statistic major. I have been working with elementary to college-level students for the past three years. Subjects ranged from remedial algebra and geometry to trigonometry and calculus.

When possible, I prefer to have a separate day to meet with the student/parent to discuss problems they are having and what they hope to gain from me as a tutor. Some students need help with homework, some with understanding concepts, and some just want someone to help them prep for upcoming tests. Whatever it is that you need, I will be prepared to meet those needs. My immediate goal is improve your test scores, but my hope is that I can make math relevant and not 'scary' and 'impossible.'

I am very flexible with both time and location. For high school students, I generally meet in a public setting such as the local library or Starbucks. I can do the same for younger students, but I am happy to travel to a family's home if that is easier or more comfortable for the student. To keep the student (and myself) from getting exhausted, I like to keep sessions to a minimum of 1 hour up to an hour and 30 minutes, give or take. I do have a 12-hour cancellation policy, but also offer makeup sessions.
Please feel free to contact me with any questions you may have. I look forward to working with you to achieve success in your academic path!

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
