Wallace State (Music Major)
I have been tutoring people almost my entire life. I started playing music when I was at the ripe young age of 4 years old. That means I have 22 years of experience. I have traveled as far north as Chicago, Illinois to play with 40 other people chosen from my state. Music is a form of expression. It allows you to put all your feelings into a piece and really convey your emotions to an audience. I absolutely love helping up and coming musicians find how truly rewarding performing can be. However, although music is my passion it's not all I do. I am also an artist. Drawing is also a form of expression. Whether you are happy or sad you can draw and paint whatever your heart desires. With no laws against what is right or wrong. I love helping students with English and Reading. English and Reading are so important. I always scored very high in those two subjects. I love helping students achieve and surpass their goals in the two most important subjects there are. Everybody has the freedom to learn. It's my want in life to help you learn.
So many people struggle to form sentences correctly. Whether it be wrong punctuation or misspelled words. In English one can not succeed if they do not understand the basics of sentence structure. I help with that. Grammar seems to have been lost somewhere through the technical age. So many people do not understand the differences between "You're, your, their, they're, there, our, are, to, too, and two" All of those words have different meanings. It is up to ourselves to use them correctly in a sentence. Reading is something we all have to be knowledgeable of. You can't even stop at a stop sign if you don't understand those four letters "S-T-O-P" mean stop. I've always loved reading. To sit down with a good book and visualize in your head what is wrote out in words is truly beautiful. Everybody should have the ability to read.
I have been playing music since I was 4 years old. I started out on piano and moved Up from there. When I was 13 years old, I wrote my first composition. I wrote that piece of music on an instrument that would forever change me, my flute. I have received numerous awards for my talent with music. I also have traveled up north to perform with 40 other students from Alabama. I achieved that at 16 years old. By the time I was a senior, I was tutoring new musicians on how to play. Brand new musicians that didn't know a whole note from a quarter note. They went on to be very successful at music. Always ranking Top 25% at an audition. One thing I succeeded in doing was making 1st Alternate in All State. I would have liked to have got 1st but, I mostly taught myself on music. I later went on to receive a full scholarship for music. My first year at college, I placed 1st chair in the section. I was pretty pleased with that. There is so much fun to be had with music. I dedicated hours upon hours practicing. Often times I would only get a few hours of sleep because I was constantly running the music over in my head. Being the best takes dedication, it takes practice, but most of all, it takes the desire and want to succeed. There is no greater feeling than knowing your hard work paid off. I will dedicate all my effort into helping you succeed. Being a musician is not easy work. However, with the mindset and passion for it, anybody can be great.
Everybody needs help. I believe I was placed on this earth to help people. I would absolutely love to help you achieve your goals. To help you grow into a confident adult. I'm here to guide you, to turn what once nothing more than a mere dream, into a reality. Remember nothing in life worth having comes easy. Trust me when I say this though, when you achieve your goals, all that hard work and dedication, all those hours spent learning, it will all be worth it!! You can do this! You will do this! Watching you succeed is why I love tutoring. I have been tutoring people almost my entire life. I started playing music when I was at the ripe young age of 4 years old. That means I have 22 years of experience. I have traveled as far north as Chicago, Illinois to play with 40 other people chosen from my state. Music is a form of expression. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
