I am a Registered nurse and have served in the healthcare field for the past thirty years. I am eager to begin tutoring, as this has been one of my lifelong dreams. I enjoy working with others to help them appreciate and enjoy learning.
I enjoy a challenge, and I understand that people have different needs and different methods of learning best. Some people have physical challenges, some have mental challenges, and some deal with social anxiety, low self-esteem and many other factors that can delay learning. I am willing to strive to reach all those that I can and to help them to be successful, as long as they are willing to try.
I began my career as an LPN, then went on to achieve my associate degree in nursing and most recently my bachelor's degree at The University of Alabama. I am proud to say that I worked hard and achieved the recognition of summa cum laude with a 4.0 grade point average while working a full-time job. I want others to accomplish the same goal.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I am qualified since I have been a nurse for the past thirty years and I have a love for learning and teaching. I recently graduated from The University of Alabama with a 4.0 grade point average. I have experience as a Sunday School teacher, volunteer for United Way and many other agencies. I have had this goal set to become a tutor for many years and now it seems that my dream will come true. I love learning and seeing others learn. It's a joy. I only wish I had started sooner.
I have to simply say that I love Algebra. As with any math it builds upon itself. It's great to see someone when their light bulb comes on and they finally get it and to be able to make it simple. That's what I have to offer to you. I excelled in math during high school and college. I look forward to working with you soon.
