About Stephanie

I began tutoring math and science as an undergraduate back in 1993. I tutored extensively at the middle, high school and university levels until I graduated. I then took a break from tutoring to focus primarily on raising my 4 children - 2 boys and 2 girls.
In 2008 I resumed tutoring at Shelton State Community College. While there I tutored math through algebra II, biology, anatomy, and physiology. At this time, I also went back to college to pursue a Master degree in Exercise Physiology with an added Biology emphasis. I graduate on August 3, 2013. I have continued to tutor up until the present, expanding more into the community and among University of Alabama students.
I have really enjoyed these tutoring opportunities. I enjoy both the challenge and reward of carefully and patiently working with a student until they gain understanding and increased confidence. I look forward to more tutoring opportunities.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
