I graduated from Virginia Tech with a bachelor's of science in mechanical engineering. I have knowledge of math subjects ranging from algebra to differential equations. I not only understand the math subjects themselves, but I also understand how they relate to real world applications through my degree. I graduated from Virginia Tech with a bachelor's of science in mechanical engineering. I have knowledge of math subjects ranging from algebra to differential equations. I not only understand the math subjects themselves, but I also understand how they relate to real world applications through my degree. I have tutored informally for friends and acquaintances for years - people approach me for tutoring because I am both knowledgeable in technical math terms, and also personable enough to teach a student at any level. While I don't have any formal teaching experience, my experience in sales management has given me a wealth of practice teaching others. In this role, I have often taught math concepts and how to apply those concepts to real world sales data in the moment.

I love to teach others - in general, any subject I can help them learn. What is special to me about teaching math to others through tutoring is that: 1. I have a real knack for math and 2. I have noticed it is often the most stress-inducing subject for students and I am passionate about helping students relieve that stress. When I tutor math, I am aiming for a deep understanding of the material, rather than a memorization. By helping students obtain a deep understanding themselves, I can help provide lasting grade improvements in current and future math courses.

Math has always been my strongest subject area. Given my total school experiences, I am technically qualified to tutor math at any level from algebra all the way to differential equations. Some math courses I have taken twice through - calculus and linear algebra. I took each at the high school level and then again, voluntarily, at the college level. Choosing to take these courses twice solidified my understanding of not only the individual courses themselves, but also how they build on and are built upon previous and future courses. (For students interested in engineering, calculus is one of the backbones of engineering, so it is important to have a strong foundation!)
