Athens State University Athens, Al (Social Sciences)
I graduated in 2013 with my B.S. in Social Sciences with Secondary Education Licensure and Certification from Athens State University. This means I am qualified to teach any history course, social studies course, government, economics, humanities, psychology, and sociology. I completed my student teaching at a Middle School, where I taught 7th grade Civics. While I was in school I worked at an Elementary School in as one of their Extended Day Program Aides where I offered homework help and tutoring in all subject areas at the 2nd-6th grade levels. I also subbed extensively for about 5 years at all grade levels. I was the head teacher for the Hanceville First United Methodist Church Summer Enrichment Program the summer of 2013. I had a class of about 20 students that ranged from K-6th grade that I created Enrichment/Summer-Gap Curriculum for as well as coordinated fun and educational activities and field trips.
After getting married in 2013, my husband got a job down here in Montgomery so we moved to Prattville. Soon after our move we found out I was expecting and we now have a one year old daughter, with whom I stay home. I will start looking for a full time teaching position once she is pre-school age. But for now, I'm just looking for a way to implement my husband's income a little that still uses my teaching skills. I think tutoring is just perfect for what I'm looking for.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
