I have years of experience with tutoring children. Especially students who are enrolled in Title I settings. The one on one approach with children affords them a level of comfort and it gives them the opportunity to ask questions and immediate feedback can be given and demonstrated. Tutoring is very beneficial because children that experience difficulties can often feel afraid to ask questions during the classroom instruction. Once teachers are done with large group instruction, the children then move into small groups with their peers while the teacher is driving instruction at a small group table. In many cases, the children who did not understand the concept when it was first delivered still are having feelings of being loss.
For this cause, children will have the opportunity to write down any areas of confusion and I will be able to give the children immediate feedback on gaps and misunderstandings from the curriculum. Tutoring will also afford the children with a unique meaningful relationship with an individual other than their parents and teachers who are excited about their learning.
