Hello! My name is Stephan and, for all intents and purposes, I am a computer geek! I have spent 2.5 years training, educating, and repairing computers for individuals with ranging skill levels as a part Best Buy. (Much of it was working in the Geek Squad itself!) I am still a student myself and am currently studying for my CompTIA A+ certification exam which covers a large range of topics relating to hardware, networking, and the inner workings of Windows. Though I wouldn't be so bold as to call myself a computer "expert", I have a large amount of experience in operating and configuring computers and feel very comfortable educating others on a wide range of topics.
You may be wondering, "But does that make you a good tutor?" You may find comfort in that before beginning my career in computers, I was on the path towards becoming a teacher for several years. As a result, I have combined total of over 80 hours of actively teaching students, preparing lessons, and analyzing lesson results for improving both student comprehension and my personal teaching strategies. I love teaching, but I don't have a fancy paper saying I do.
Interestingly, the curriculum for "General Computer" can span a very large range of topics and spans further than the laptop or desktop you're currently using. I am experienced in training others in the operation and configuration of the operating system and applications, as well as showing how to perform basic maintenance and upkeep. I can also instruct on more advanced topics, such as the functions and identification of hardware components. We can even cover computing devices such as tablets, smartphones, etc. I have no experience in and cannot instruct on the subject of coding or programming.
If you believe your needs fall within the points outlined above, then feel free to contact me! We can arrange a meeting to discuss your desired curriculum, goals, and a suitable meeting place. I look forward to hearing from you! Hello! My name is Stephan and, for all intents and purposes, I am a computer geek! In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
