Hi, I'm MJ. Currently, I am a college math professor with a passion for helping students succeed. I received my Bachelor's degree in Mathematics in 1996. I continued my studies in graduate school, earning a Master's degree and Ph.D. from Auburn University. I've been teaching on the collegiate level since 2000. I coordinate activities for summer STEM programs for high school students and I'm passionate about STEM education for K-12 students. My philosophy about mathematics education is simple. If a student can believe in their ability to learn the subject, then they will have the success they seek. My role as an educator is the inspire every student to believe in themselves and encourage them along the way.

I would like to use this platform to reach students who may need a little extra push and encouragement. Although I am a full-time professor, there are opportunities to reach back and help others in my spare time. I typically teach Algebra, Pre Calculus, and Calculus I to classes with thirty students enrolled. My lecture style is informal and conversational and I do my best to explain the concepts in familiar terms. I look forward to helping those who want to succeed and work hard for their goals.

I have been teaching students from various backgrounds on the collegiate level for nearly 20 years. I am dedicated to teaching and inspiring students to do their best. I've taught College Algebra, Trigonometry, Calculus I, II, and III, Intro to Statistics, and Differential Equations throughout the years. I live for the "Aha" moment in the classroom and beyond.

It would be a pleasure to teach and encourage any student who values their education. If you are seeking assistance, you have taken the first step to improve. I would like to join you on this journey. Feel free to contact me to learn more and see if I'm the right fit for you.

Best wishes,
MJ
