About Megan

I am an experienced tutor who loves teaching of every kind. I am enthusiastic about learning and keeping the energy up during sessions. No one will be bored. I am all about creativity and getting results through positivity.

I have experience in a variety of areas of writing. I have authored a book on local history, which was published by the city government. I am currently co-authoring an academic paper for publication. I have written two novels, not yet published. My undergraduate minor degree was English. I have a love of literature, poetry and prose. However, I understand not every student does. I have worked with reluctant students and am skilled in peeking interest in the written word.

I am two semesters away from completing my Masters in Elementary Education. At that time, I will be fully certified. In addition to my practical tutoring experience of elementary students, I have the background classroom knowledge to best help your child learn. I also have eight years experience in the public library system working with elementary age students on homework assignments, developing computer skills, and improving study skills.

I am ready to assist you or your child learn and grow. Please contact me for high quality, dynamic tutoring.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Patient and observant educator.

Megan was very patient with our high-functioning son who is on the autism spectrum. She took the time to ask lots of questions and observe him to tune in to the way that he learns best. Our son was very receptive to her because of her flexibility. We look forward to many more productive sessions in the future.
