About Elizabeth

Greetings! I am an experienced teacher with 27 years in education! I have spent the past several years working with students in college prep classes, and College/Career Readiness classes. I have degrees in Elementary and Gifted Education, and am certified to teach English (through 12th grade) and Career Readiness courses. I have tutored K-12 students in ACT prep, English and various other subjects, and I believe that each student can succeed!
I am the type of individual who develops a relationship with each student so that they feel comfortable asking for advice or help. I like to individualize instruction and concentrate on the learning style of the student. I am good at adapting teaching styles with learning styles, and will definitely help you or your child to succeed in what I am hired to do!!

Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Reading

I taught reading in the elementary and junior high schools for over 20 years! I love the students and love to read! I love to teach, and would love to tutor your daughter in a one-on-one setting.
