About Bryan

I enjoy working with students to break down difficult-to-grasp concepts into small pieces in order to help solve problems. I try to also emphasize the importance of systematically attacking the problem. Upon continued practice, this usually results in the student developing more self confidence in being able to solve math problems, which is rewarding to student and myself! I enjoy learning new things and try to emphasize to students the importance of having a good attitude, and trying his/her best.

I am a husband, father, and also an engineer working in the Huntsville area. My experience working with children includes teaching church small groups, volunteer leader with school technology fair projects, and coaching sports teams (baseball, basketball, soccer).

I have a BS in Electrical Engineering (included: Calculus, Differential Equations, Linear Algebra. I recently took and passed the Praxis II Math Exam (includes Algebra, Discrete Math, Finite Math, etc.)

I am just getting started as a tutor, so I'd like to have an opportunity to help. Thanks for considering my help and I wish you the best in your journey to learn!

Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Baseball

I played baseball growing up through high school. More recently I've coached my son's baseball teams for about 7 years. He was able to continue playing on the local high school team. I coached throughout following age range: 8-15.

Basketball

I played basketball for one year on high school team and then recreationally off and on since. I coached my son's basketball teams started in 1st grade and continuing through a senior in high school in local parks and recreation leagues.

Track & Field

I ran on the cross country and track teams both at high school and college level. Ran middle distances (1/2 mile and mile) during track season. I've continued to run as an adult and often compete in local road races. I would be happy to work with someone to get started in running or improve their times.

Trigonometry

I'm an electrical systems engineer and have been working in the aerospace industry for over 20 years.
