I work well with children and help make learning fun.
I have worked with elementary and middle school students, primarily with math and reading. I was a volunteer in a 2nd grade classroom--assisting with math and science homework, administering tests, and acting as a reading buddy. I also tutored a middle school math student for one semester, working to improve both his math abilities and his confidence. I also served as a skills tutor for a couple elementary baseball teams.
I have always excelled at math, from elementary to the ACT. I know the fundamentals and I can communicate problem-solving methods. My experience tutoring a middle school student resulted in not only an increase in grade, but an increase in the student's confidence.
I graduated high school with Honors and a 32 ACT. I am currently attending UAH on a full tuition scholarship, majoring in Mechanical Engineering.
I am an educated, enthusiastic, and friendly college student who enjoys helping others learn. I'd like to encourage you to ask any questions you might have regarding my abilities or what you might expect from me as a tutor. I know that working with me will be something your student looks forward to doing, which will translate into more effort and better learning. Feel free to check with me on special scheduling or adjusted rates. I look forward to hearing from you soon. I work well with children and help make learning fun.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
