About AJ

I am currently working towards a Master's in Public Health, Specializing in Epidemiology and Biostatistics. I obtained my Bachelor’s degree summa cum laude. The field I've chosen requires a tremendous amount of research methodology and most importantly the ability to write academic journals at great length. I came across tutoring early in college after one of my professors noticed that I was helping my peers improve their grades. The ability to formulate a logical and easily digestible essay is one that takes time, and I thoroughly enjoy watching students become master's at displaying their thoughts for others.

Research papers and the alike have been my main subject for tutoring for several years. I can easily help with arranging which topics needs to be covered, along with proofreading papers before the student needs to submit them. I keep my phone and laptop near during most days. Therefore, the ability for me to respond rapidly and sufficiently should be an asset you can depend upon. The subjects I adhere to are: Writing, Proofreading and Statistics.

I’ve currently helped write over 100 research papers and countless essays that have all nearly managed A’s on their final grades, with very few exceptions to that standard. The first thing I always suggest is to get a rough draft in early in regards to any paper; this allows the student and myself multiple attempts at ironing out any defects and making a work of art. Therefore, last minute paper submitting that requires greater than 10 pages of information should be a very rare circumstance. Excellent papers take time with small steps towards the goal; rushing will result in a lackluster final grade.

Helping with the analytical portion of the GRE is also a skillset I have to offer, for I have personally managed tops scores in that category. Furthermore, I can assess where the student is currently in their ability to debate topics and formulate them into a sufficient essay within a timed manner

Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Biostatistics

I am currently getting my masters with a concentration in Biostatistics and it involves a significant amount of conceptualization of variables. The math and the formulas involving Biostatistics have become the easy part of this discipline for myself. I am adept with several sub categories such as: Multi-variable analysis, parameter measurement, multivariate regression, dissertation data, and many more.

Proofreading

Proofreading is a subject that takes practice to become efficient with executing. The amount of time someone spends looking over their work is most often more critical than the initial work. I’ve spent numerous days and nights looking over my own work and others in the pursuit of criticism. Therefore, this subject is one I can significantly provide expertise on when guiding a student along their work.

Statistics

I currently tutor statistics at a local college in areas such as: Business Statistics, Elementary Statistics, and Bio-statistics. Furthermore, my Masters is heavily entrenched with statistical research.

Writing

During my years in High School I despised writing; for I never understood how it would benefit me down my academic path. It was not until college when I had professors take me aside and teach me one on one did I start to thoroughly enjoy writing. I’ve currently written enough in an academic setting to surpass The Lord of the Rings trilogy in length. Thereby, my past experience with writing can become a corner stone in which you can rely on when developing future work. The initial hump to starting off a paper is most often the hardest part of most my students. Therefore, getting the ball rolling is the main thing I focus on when aiding a student with their paper.

Very understanding and knowledgeable

AJ is helping me improve on the writing section of the GRE. He went into detail on how to write an introduction and a conclusion, and gave reasons for why every sentence is needed. He was easy to talk to and he seemed like he was genuinely interested in helping me get better in writing. Looking forward to the next session!
