Bio

I have a master's degree in special education and am fully certified to teach grades 6-12 special education. For the last 5 years I have been teaching as a co-teacher in 5/6 grade inclusion classroom at a private school teaching math and science. I have learned a great deal about how to break down information for students and as an individual with dyslexia, I bring a different perspective to education because of my own struggles when I was a student.

For the last 5 years I have been teaching as a co-teacher in 5/6 grade inclusion classroom at a private school teaching math and science. I have learned a great deal about how to break down information for students and as an individual with dyslexia, I bring a different perspective to education because of my own struggles when I was a student.

Before that I was a paraprofessional for 2 years in a special education pre-k classroom. I graduated from the University of North Alabama with a degree in Independent Studies with a focus on early childhood development. After graduation I taught in a K-2 classroom at a small private special needs school that focused on creating safe and through learning environment for students with Autism Spectrum Disorder. The following school year, I was contracted to manage a middle school self-contained classroom for students with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
I have had a lot of experience in special education and breaking difficult concepts down for students to better manage. I am a very hands-on teacher and constantly help and create escape classrooms and classroom transformations for my students to help bring the magic of learning to the students I serve. I would love to become a tutor and thank you so much for consideration.
