I have been teaching English in Huntsville City Schools for 19 years. I began my teaching career working with high risk youth. I taught high school English for 6 years. At the high school level I taught all grades, including AP English 11 and 12. For the past 13 years I have been teaching middle school English. I teach 7th and 8th grade honors English. I also sponsored our school yearbook for 12 years.
My favorite part of my job is the connection I make with students. Each and every student who has walked into my classroom has made an impact on my life. I am truly a dedicated teacher who cares about her students. I want all of my students to be successful.
I have been teaching 19 years and was awarded "Teacher of the Year" in 2001. I truly care about my students and get to know each and every one of them.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
