Astrophysicist For Math and Science Tutoring

I am an Astrophysicist and former Astronomer at NASA MSFC. I have a Bachelor's degree in Astronomy from the University of Toledo, a Master's degree in Physics and a PhD in Astrophysics both from Georgia State University. I have experience helping students with their math coursework ranging from Pre-Algebra up to Precalculus. I am most comfortable helping with all levels of Astronomy and with Physics ranging from high school Physics and Introductory Classical Physics to Modern Physics.

I worked in a Planetarium for four years where I taught groups ranging from Pre-school children to adults, so I am comfortable working with students of any age. I have experience teaching intro level astronomy courses, which include basic physics and math, for college students both traditional and non-traditional.

My approach to teaching is to help the students understand the reasoning behind what they are studying, rather than just memorizing facts and equations. In the lessons I have taught I prefer to use more images and examples, rather than lists of facts and equations without much explanation. I have experience tutoring astronomy students with their homework as well as helping them to study for exams.

I'm interested in online tutoring as I am now staying home with my young children and am very interested in helping students with their education through these difficult times. I really love to teach and talk with people about astronomy and physics and would love the opportunity to help students using the knowledge and skills that I have acquired over the years.
