About Keith

I recently graduated from Georgia Tech where I studied Aerospace Engineering. I worked for 2 years as a tutor and teacher's assistant for physics and math classes. In high school, I helped many people with the more elementary math and science classes that are required to do well in college. My style is generally laid back. I like to see how much students actually know and build his or her confidence while enhancing knowledge on the given material. I like to do a few examples of the difficult material and have the students do a few examples on their own while asking me questions along the way. Usually by the end of a session, students can complete the material on their own. I recently graduated from Georgia Tech where I studied Aerospace Engineering. Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Algebra 1

I taught and tutored math for many years and still use algebra daily in my work.

C++

I use C++ in my job to run simulations of the SLS rocket. I've programmed everything from basic math to advanced differential equations solutions. I have taught various coding languages in the past and believe I would do well with C++.

Computer Programming

I've spent the last year doing programming in Python and Javascript at the GA Tech research institute. As a tutor at GA Tech, I taught MATLAB to many students in the years I was there. I also use MATLAB on almost a daily basis.

Differential Equations

I tutored differential equations for two years when I was in college. I majored in control theory in graduate school, which is essentially advanced applications of differential equations. I have a good fundamental understanding of differential equations and experience teaching this subject.

Geometry

I tutored geometry for many years and use it in my daily work.

Linear Algebra

At Georgia Tech, the Calculus 2 course that I took as a freshman introduced Linear Algebra. I tutored this subject for two years as an undergraduate. As a graduate student, I took another linear algebra course and used the concepts of linear algebra in many of my upper level classes.

MATLAB

As a tutor at GA Tech, I taught MATLAB to many students in the years I was there. I also use MATLAB on almost a daily basis.

Physical Science

I majored in aerospace engineering and had to use physical science to solve many problems. I've also tutored physics for many years.

Precalculus

I taught precalculus to incoming freshmen at Georgia Tech and tutored the subject for many years.

Python

I have been programming in Python for five years. I've completed projects involving everything from web applications to advanced data processing. I've taught many of my co-workers the basics of Python, so I feel like I could transition to tutoring this subject very well.

Statistics

I've taken graduate level statistics and taught undergrad stats to various students. I also use basic statistical methods in my current job.
