I'm Jenn. I'm 28 years old and I am currently a student teacher at UAB. I am majoring in Early Childhood and Elementary Education. I have 8 years of experience teaching students in a variety of settings. I have experience teaching preschool classes, tutoring ESL students, teaching lessons in all subjects, and providing appropriate instruction to students individually.
I began tutoring while working in an after-school program at an elementary school. I helped children to complete their homework assignments and then tutored specific students in areas such as math and reading. I also tutored several ESL students while completing volunteer hours in my program. I have had exceptional training toward becoming highly qualified in teaching reading, math, and science.
I have prepared and implemented math lessons with students in a classroom setting. I have worked one on one with many students in areas such as graphing and fractions.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
